Yay! How much do I LOVE this week’s photo challenge?! A LOT! It was tough for me to choose only a few, but I have done it! Are you ready? Here we go.
Strings of lights hung above a walkway. I am instantly transported into a fairytale where the princess gets her prince and they live happily ever after.
Miniature roses after a storm. The way the water sits ever so delicately on their petals.
My boys making silly faces, anticipating a morning at the beach, after being covered with sunscreen.
A bridge that leads to beauty. The kind that was made to hold the star attraction in a film.
My Bella. When I look at her I see all of the ways that she has changed my life. I see the old soul that she is, through her eyes. I pray that she will never conform to mediocrity. She is exceptional and being different isn’t weird, it’s unique.
The power of creation. My sons feeling creation with all five senses. They hear it announcing, “I AM HERE!” when the waves break. They see the indescribable splendor. They touch the ever-changing tide. They smell the air of sea life. They taste the salty water when it splashes in their face.
An ice-cold Coke. One that has been swimming in cubes for hours and has that little layer of frost. Delicious.
This man. Who has captured my heart in so many ways. He takes love to the extreme with his attention to detail, his passion for life and all of its beauty. His courage amidst difficulty. His ability to make me laugh when I’m furious. His intentional displays of adoration. His hands…the way they work, the way they hold insects and reptiles for our boys to experience close-up, the way they love…
These little feet. Belonging to an (almost) two-year old and dirtied by the ground beneath her. It is evident how much she loves to explore.
The sky. When it is adorned with clouds and sunlight and color. It’s breathtaking appearance and significance takes my breath away.
Dahlias as big as my face.
Footprints to my boys. Tangible evidence of where they’ve been and how quickly they grow as day by day the smaller prints rush to catch up with the larger ones.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my happy place. If it conjured up wonderful images for you, I pray that it will allow you to walk through your day with an attitude of gratitude for the little things.
